The coast of Maine is an inspiration to the many artists-both as painters and writers- who have spent time or lived here. One artist/writer in particular was the famed children's book writer and illustrator, Robert McCloskey. The summers he spent on an island off the Maine coast with his family inspired him to create such notable classics as One Morning in Maine, Blueberries for Sal, Burt Dow, Time of Wonder. Other acclaimed children's classics included Homer Price, Make Way for Ducklings and Canterbury Tales.
Maine Arts Publishing is honored and proud to offer this signature collection of Robert McCloskey in many forms from posters to notecards, birthday invitations, paper placemats and flipbooks. These iconic images are a wonderful way to decorate a children's room or bring a smile to the recipient of a notecard when they open their mail.
Visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston from November 2016 until Spring 2017 to see many of Robert McCloskey's original paintings and sketches. While you are there you can purchase many of our fine products in the Museum of Fine Arts Boston Gift Shop.
